Garmin has the worst and most user unfriendly software I have ever seen in any of the smartwatches I used in the market. It is confusing and often does not work at all. I have a garmin epix (gen 2), carbon gray dlc titanium with black band, premium active and I will send it back for a refund. It will not find my Telstra WiFi 5G broadband connection my other WiFi items including other brands find with ease. Garmin, this is a useless piece of product that is not only overpriced but also user unfriendly. Do not purchase such an outdated unsmart-watch.

I was supposed to run at 9am. But I did not want to wait 3 hours for the start. Got to the ferry at 7:00am. I WENT LIGHT! Only my running gear, nothing extra like jackets or pants and it was cold. I got to Staten Island at 7:30am, the busses WERE SUPER FAST TO ARRIVE! Every 5 mins 10-15 busses will come. The longest part was the bus ride! It took like 40 mins. But I got to the place I was supposed to be at around 8:25 after leaving the bus. And got to my corrals at 8:35am. I stretch and got there at exactly the time I wanted to be, which was close to the start time hehe. Ps. There are a lot of opportunities to pee! The ferry station and the ferry (PLEASE USE THEM! They are better than anything after that, since everything else will be crowded).

I loved my fenix 6x pro for all of the training features. But the gps was absolute trash and i had to take the training stats with a grain of salt and just look for overall improvements based on where i was running. I remember running a 5k and the distance came out to 2.2 miles. I have 6 mile trail by my house and it reads anywhere from 4 miles to 4.7 depending on time of year/foliage growth with max settings. That was the whole reason i dropped way too much money on an upgrade.

2:12 battery life on Epix Gen 2 is FINE as is, if you can't be bothered to charge your watch once a week, you have more time than me. My biggest anger with Epix Gen2 is no LED flashlight. Retail wise, it's at par with Fenix 7x Sapphire Solar, comn, give the Epix Gen 2 Sapphire a flashlight, not just Pro

What the problem might be, and I know I am late but hey maybe someone would see this, is that the ram partly died which will slow everything down and even freeze it. For the battery I have a theory, solar charging isn't just sun charges battery. Instead the watch needs to run a string of code in the background to check and measure how much sun it gets and send that information to the battery section. In a sense, it could be draining the battery more during use and the more you use it the more the battery starts to fade away the last bit of life left. Luckily changing the battery is pretty easy and if you don't want to do it yourself you can always head to a watch repair shop. Now if you have warranty then go ahead and use that first. My guess is that you worked that watch hard and hooking up your bike sensors and other parts with it may have given it more stress than it is normally used too. But it is good to know even with the warranty gone they still did the best they could by replacing it with a second hand one.

Great equipment. Tell me, did you put a protective film on the display? You say that you have been using it for quite a long time, hence my question whether it makes sense to stick a protective glass on the display.

so my 2015 VA3 seems to be biting the dust (really hard time charging) but I'm 68 and don't like (too much) change. I like the colorful screen options of the 3 and I like being able to log in and pay with my watch when I leave my phone/wallet in the car or home. Can I still do those with the 4? Also is it the same charger?

The OX is and respiration is incredibly useful when ascending mountains at higher altitude like 14ers in Colorado for instance. It’s reassuring to have this data when you get into the thinner air past the ridge line 12,000 ft. Or so). This is generally when the body will start getting more taxed.

After entering Brooklyn and going over the first hill in Bay Ridge, there will be a second bigger hill after 59st. So really pace yourself there.

Just rode this trail thanks to this video. Boy was this challenging for me! Don't know if it was the 95+ degree weather or I'm just THAT out of shape but those hills really beat me up badly. It's a beautiful trail nonetheless.

I bought a 6X Sapphire for $275 that is 1 month old yesterday. I'll keep this and buy a Fenix 7X sapphire in 3 years. Garmin's hold up really well so no need to buy brand new.

Great video! Running NYC for the first time this year (2023)...also my first marathon! Two questions - what's up with the strategy of rotating water with Gatorade on the course? (vs. all Gatorade for example). And is it worth carrying any of your own water? Feels like No.

Do you shower with the watch on? Takes an hour to charge it.. you get more than half a month … seems your complaining a lot . Won’t be helping your algorithim.

Another option bring a battery charger that you are happy to throw away while waiting for your start.

Good information! Just a couple of Qs 1. Some people mentioned uneasyness on the boat - although I don't have sea sickness, is this concern true? 2. As per my finish time I have been 3 ferry options 615, 630, 645 - anything like earlier/ later the better?

I’m an ultra running but I will add that the golf feature is very helpful. It tells you how far away from the pin you are at any given moment. No need for a range finder. Plus it tracks your score.

Hello thanks for your videos . We really enjoy them. We will be doing the nyc marathon ourselves next November. I would like to ask you if you can take your insta 360 x3 camera and the stick aswell . I have read the regulations recently and seem you are not allowed to carry it with you. I saw some of your vids and you might have some tips please. Espescially when carrying it during the marathon
